Danielle Matthews

ASEA Diamond Executive

With a degree in biology from the University of Virginia and a two-year stint for Teach for America under her belt, Danielle Matthews’ life was mapped out. But after being hit by a drunk driver left her with a brain injury, she turned her focus towards healing and adjusting to a new life with new limitations.

“I was unable to work,” she remembers. “Doctors told me it was just my “new normal” after a year, but I still had all my symptoms. Two years after my accident, ASEA found its way into my life. After that, I just started thinking about what I wanted to do for work and how I wanted to spend my time. Tomorrow isn’t guaranteed for any of us.”

For Danielle, starting an ASEA business was a decision that made itself. “During the Fall of 2015, I was attending Envision Conference in Las Vegas,” she says. “I was on the edge of my seat. I had goosebumps head to toe and kept asking myself if this was real. Could I really be surrounded by so many people who were wanting to change lives for the better? Turns out it was all real.”

Now, seven years later, Danielle has created a thriving team and culture where individuals can find the same room to grow that she has. Instead of focusing on business results, she plans her days around the lives of her team members.

This means helping people within her organization develop more confidence, step out and reach for more, and get excited about their lives and dreams once again.

“I have a sticky note on my desk that reads simply: Help others reach their inner potential,” she says. “This is what I’m meant to do in this lifetime, and ASEA aligns with that. We power potential, and that’s what I’m here to do. I’m just happy I can partner with a company that wants to do the same.”
